Hunting and trapping were the main means of survival in Labrador for centuries, one log book belonging to Ira Best of North West River contains their day to day experience of hunting in the cold winters of 1940’s Labrador. The first guiding company in the province was registered as the 1st Cartwright Company, learn about the beginning of the Girl Guides in 1923 with a collection of stories gathered by previous members. James Andersen was up early to unload the M. V. Kloser which arrived to port at 3a.m. Hunting and Trapping was survival in Labrador for centuries. The first Guiding Company was in Cartwright October 1923. Lydia Campbell was in her snowshoes, looking at the trees in the beautiful nature.
