James Ford died of measles while serving overseas with the Newfoundland Regiment. He is buried at Paisley, Scotland. There is a headstone to his memory in St. Anthony in the Anglican Cemetery which would indicate he was buried there but bodies of servicemen who died overseas were never returned home. Also the place is confirmed by the Newfoundland Book of Remembrance (see below).
