Hi, My name is Jonah Ian Hancock, I was born here in Goose Bay in the year 2000 and have lived here ever since.
My parents, grandparents, and most of the family I’m able to name, all live on, or can be traced back to, the Labrador south coast communities. I remember all kinds of stories my grandparents would tell me from their youth, about how they and my great grandparents lived off of the land. Now I get to help retell and preserve the same kinds of stories for others, while learning new things I never would have otherwise. Labrador has an incredibly rich, yet I find, largely underappreciated and largely under shared history. I’m eager to help change that any way I can!
