Then and Now

Front Cover: From a performance by the Ike Rich Players of Goose High School at the 2002 Labrador Creative Arts Festival. The play, Corner of Jarvis & Queen, layers themes from Greek mythology on urban life in modern Toronto. In the foreground, Jamie Jackman and Matthew Barrett play street people Gabe and John, while Andrew Crawford behind them plays Hope, and Noelle (Fry) Ryan is just out of sight on the edge of the frame, playing Pandora.

Back Cover: A scene from A Child’s Fist Komatik Ride, a student play written and performed for the 1979 festival, which took “Them Days” for its theme. The script was based on the real-life experience of a student in Alicia Eaton’s grade 2 class at Spruce Park Elementary School.
