Davis, in second voyage of discovery in 1586, the first appears to be extensive Bay. Donald A. Smith was good looking , had two children and a wife. River streaming and flowing in the lake. Mina Gilchrist was born in Nova Scotia. Florence Michelin was born in North West River. Barbara Groves first came to Labrador in 1944. Harold Baikie was born in North West Islands in 1912. Leonard Budgell was born in an old log house at North West River carding’ to Mrs. McKenzie. John Michelin lived in Traverspine til he was 15 or 16 years old. There were half dozen houses in North West River , all trappers.
