Shirley (Chaulk) Hefler lived on Birch Island until she was 11 year’s old. Mabel Russell moved to Birch Island in July 1948. Derrick “Dick” Chaulk lived on Birch Island from when he can remember. Lillian Beehymer came to Birch Island when she was born. Henry Rich was born on the base, in the American hospital. Charlotte (Pottle) Wolfrey left Rigolet, Labrador when she was 11 year’s old. Paul Goudie was born in 1949. Margaret Goudie Parsons remember when her dad and other men building a bridge of Birch Island, the bridge connected to them to the mainland. Myra Blake Estes parents were Fred and Alvina Blake. Nellie Roberts lived on Birch Island for 2 months, she came in 1958. Restoring Environment, Restoring Pride is an issue by Marina Biasutti-Brown.
